Aegisvale

Final project 2025

The project Aegisvale explores the conception, development, and critical reflection of a self-designed open-world role-playing game. At its core lies a narrative world that delves into the tension between magic and science. The game is set on a fictional planet named Zypheron, whose tidally locked rotation around its star creates extreme climatic conditions: one side is in perpetual daylight, while the other remains shrouded in eternal night. In the twilight zone between these extremes, where the sun hovers at the horizon, lies the only habitable area—a sheltered valley between desert and shadow mountains, where humanity has found refuge.
In the playable prototype, the player takes on the role of Alexi, who sets out in search of her missing father Ardyn. Along the way, she explores the hostile biomes of Zypheron, gathers resources, and unlocks new abilities through the crafting of custom-made crystals.

The game is being developed using Unreal Engine 5, complemented by 3D modeling in Blender. A key component of the project is the accompanying livestreaming process on the Twitch platform. The goal was to actively involve viewers in the development—both through creative input and technical support.

For the creation of sketches and graphics, modern image generation tools such as ChatGPT by OpenAI and Midjourney are used.
