Mine Chase
Atelierprojekt Somersemester 2022
In the game Mine Chase, players ride a mine cart through a tunnel by rocking in a rocking chair, aiming to reach the end of the level. Along the way, obstacles appear that must be passed at either a minimum or maximum speed, as indicated by traffic signs shortly beforehand. If the player is going too fast or too slow at an obstacle, the cart derails, and the level must be restarted.
The game was developed using the Unity game engine.
As part of the project series War of the Buttons, led by Prof. Burkhard Detzler and Dr. Michael Schmitz, the objective was to develop game concepts that replaced traditional controllers, keyboards, and mice with Arduino-based sensor technology. This led to the idea of controlling gameplay through the rocking motion of a chair.
The project was exhibited alongside the works of other participating students during the HBK Saar summer exhibition in the rooftop studio.
